Hello dear Fashionistas,
As we have all seen, the game has been quite inactive due to the lack of updates—both in-game and through Facebook, other social media, or even within the game’s community. I have wanted to say this for a long time now. My friend and I have been searching for days and days to understand the lack of updates in Fashion Fantasy, and we have come to a conclusion that might not be 100% accurate, but could still be helpful for many of us.
Let me break it into parts so it will be easier to understand.
Our research started when I found some late posts from the game in 2024—on the 31st of December, to be exact. We’re talking about the New Year’s congratulations post from the game. At first, it might not seem important, but if you look at the bottom of the post, you can see that FF mentioned something about new outfits and that the upcoming year would be full of events, surprises, and more.
And, to be honest, they did keep that promise—at least in the beginning. If we remember January, February, and even the first week of March, the game was full of events, new activities, comeback packages, and paid packages. The game felt wonderful at that point.
Moving forward to March, there was an upcoming event that was delayed by four days because the team didn’t have enough time and faced some issues. They stated they had to make changes to the event. If we compare this to the past, from December to March, do you think the change was intentional? Personally, I believe it was something that came up unexpectedly and that they truly didn’t have time to prepare for it—just like they said in the March apology post. They even mentioned that this delay caused problems for upcoming events they had planned for the future.
Now let’s jump to May. In bold letters, they announced that we would be getting new events or packages in May. And indeed, we did get them: a beautiful event, packages, and even some comeback events. But after that, things changed. We kept getting comeback events—again and again—until finally a new event appeared (the Dying event, to be specific). But after that, it was more comebacks again.
This pattern made many of us feel like the game had been abandoned. Players began leaving, which is sad not only for the game but for us as loyal fans. We have been patient, and we deserve more for waiting so long. Still, I say—don’t lose hope.
Let’s go back to 2023. There was a post in the private Fashion Fantasy Facebook group from a player referencing the Chinese version. In that post, it was mentioned that the game had been removed from the Chinese Play Store. This gives us a bit of insight into what might be happening now. In 2023, the game seemed to have a small team and limited funds. After that, we stopped getting large updates with full outfit previews. Instead, we saw more maintenance periods, comeback outfits, and redesigned versions—some paid, some as original packages or events.
Even so, we still got new events in 2024. On Weibo, they mentioned that in February 2024 they would start releasing more American-style outfits, and indeed, the updates brought many of the fits we have now in the global game.
So, I don’t think the game is completely dead. I believe they might be working on something special. My hope comes from two things: first, the optimism in those Facebook posts (especially the New Year’s Eve one), and second, the organized comeback pattern—which seems to follow the same order from two years ago. This makes me think they’re preparing future events while keeping the game alive with comebacks.
However, they are wrong at least in one way: they should communicate with us. Even if they want it to be a surprise, they need to tell us something, because right now the community is disappointed and has no direct way to reach them.
I hope this helps anyone reading. And if you made it to the end—thank you ❤️
